Monthly Musings...

Keep reading for an exclusive reveal about the changing format of my 'Monday musings...' in 2018!

#susiemurphyart YouTube Channel

I am super excited to announce (and also slightly terrified) that 2018 will see me launch my brand new YouTube Channel. For those of you who know me personally, you will probably already know that putting myself out there in front of a camera, or into the public domain, is NOT my comfort zone! However, I am always looking for new ways to bring you engaging content and share the magic of Scotland with you; so, I figured that YouTube was a good place to start. As a result, 'Monday musings...' will now be brought to you and shared on social media via Youtube in a video format once a month.

2018 'Monday musings...'

Apparently, it can take as few as eight hours or as many as thirty six for videos to appear in YouTube's search index. And, for my channel to appear in the search index, I need to have a minimum of three uploaded videos.

It has been a steep learning curve and I am hoping to have worked it all out before the official launch of my brand new 'Monday musings...' on January 1st. Initially, whilst I'm growing my wings in the unchartered world of vlogging, I will be creating videos based on some of your favourite musings from 2017.

I really do hope you enjoy this development in my musings journey - I'd love to hear your thoughts and if you have any advice for my fledgling videos just leave me a comment on social media, email or drop me a pm. In the meantime, here's a 2017 style 'Monday musings...' to end the year on:

Scots Pine

'Scots pine' - This distinctive evergreen is native to northern Europe and is Scotland's national tree. It was also important to the Druids, who apparently associated evergreens with the birth of the new and the coming of the sun after the darkness of winter. At winter solstice, the Druids would decorate trees and light large bonfires of Scots pine to celebrate the passing season and to encourage the return of the sun. It is believed that many of our Christmas traditions originally stem from the Druid's fire festival at winter solstice. Thursday 21st December marked this year's winter solstice. Did you do anything special? I would have loved a big, Druid-style, roaring bonfire, wouldn't you? ...maybe next year!

Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2018!
